Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator – Calculate ROI

Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator

A crypto profit/loss calculator is a simple tool that helps you estimate how much you could gain or lose on a crypto trade.

You can enter the amount invested or the number of coins, your entry price, exit price, and trading fees. The calculator then estimates your net profit or loss, ROI, total fees, final value, and break-even exit price.

The CST Times Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator is designed for calculations only. It does not place trades, buy or sell cryptocurrency, or connect to an exchange account.

What is a Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator?

A crypto profit/loss calculator estimates the result of a trade based on the prices and fees you enter.

For example, suppose you invest $1,000 in Bitcoin at $60,000 and later sell it at $75,000. The calculator can estimate your profit after applying the entry and exit fees you provide.

It can be used for both long trades and short trades.

A long trade means you buy crypto first and sell it later. A short trade means you sell first and buy the crypto back later.

How to Use the Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator

Using the calculator is simple.

1. Select Your Trade Type

Choose between Long and Short.

Select Long (buy, then sell) when you are buying the crypto first and planning to sell it later.

Select Short (sell, then buy back) when you are selling first and planning to buy the crypto back later.

The calculator changes the calculation based on the trade type you select.

2. Enter the Coin

Enter the crypto coin you want to analyse in the Coin field.

This field is optional and is mainly used to identify the asset in the calculation.

For example, enter BTC for Bitcoin or ETH for Ethereum.

3. Choose Your Currency

Select the currency you want to use, such as USD, EUR, GBP, AED, CAD, or AUD.

For example, select USD if your trade prices are in US dollars.

4. Choose What You Know

The calculator lets you choose between Amount invested and Number of coins.

Select Amount invested when you know how much money you are putting into the trade.

For example, enter 1,000 if you are investing $1,000.

Select Number of coins when you already know how many coins you are trading.

For example, you could enter 0.05 BTC.

5. Enter the Entry Price

Enter the price at which you opened the trade.

For a long trade, this is your Buy Price.

For a short trade, this is the price at which you initially sold the crypto.

For example, if you bought Bitcoin at $60,000, enter 60000 as the entry price.

6. Enter the Exit Price

Enter the price at which you expect to close the trade.

For a long trade, this is your Sell Price.

For a short trade, this is the price at which you plan to buy the crypto back.

For example, if you plan to sell Bitcoin at $75,000, enter 75000 as the exit price.

7. Add Trading Fees

Enter your estimated Entry Fee and Exit Fee as percentages.

For example, you can enter 0.1% for the entry fee and 0.1% for the exit fee.

You can leave the fee fields empty when you want to calculate without trading fees.

Including fees can give you a more realistic estimate because trading costs can reduce your final profit.

8. Check the Result

After entering the required information, the calculator shows your estimated result.

You can see:

  • Net profit or loss
  • ROI
  • Total investment including entry fee
  • Final value after fees
  • Total fees paid
  • Coins traded
  • Price change
  • Break-even exit price

The calculator also shows different possible results if the exit price moves up or down.

How Does the Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator Work?

The calculator first determines the number of coins involved in the trade.

If you enter an investment amount, it uses the entry price to calculate how many coins that amount represents.

It then compares the entry price with the exit price and applies the entry and exit fees.

For example, if you invest $1,000 in Bitcoin at $60,000 and later sell at $75,000, the calculator works out the trade result based on those prices.

The final result can be different after fees because trading costs are deducted from the overall trade outcome.

For short trades, the calculation works in the opposite direction because the trade starts with a sale and is closed by buying the crypto back.

What is the Break-Even Price?

The break-even exit price is the price you need to reach to cover your trade costs based on the fees you enter.

At the break-even price, the calculation shows approximately no profit and no loss after the included fees.

This can help you understand how much a coin needs to move before your trade becomes profitable.

What If the Exit Price Changes?

The calculator includes a table showing different possible exit-price movements.

You can see how the estimated profit or loss changes when the exit price moves by different percentages.

For example, you can compare what could happen if the exit price is 10%, 25%, 50%, or 100% above or below the entry price.

This makes it easier to understand how sensitive your estimated result is to changes in the crypto price.

Where Can You Check the Coin Price?

The Live Market Chart is available below the calculator.

You can use the chart to select a cryptocurrency or trading pair and review its current market price and price movement.

For example, if you want to calculate a Bitcoin trade, select BTC or BTCUSDT on the Live Market Chart and check the market price.

You can then use that price as your entry or exit price in the calculator.

You can also choose any other price you want to test. The calculator lets you create your own trade scenario instead of requiring you to use the current market price.

Why is a Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator Useful?

Crypto prices can move quickly, and manually calculating profit, loss, ROI, and trading fees can become difficult.

A profit/loss calculator gives you a quick way to test different trade scenarios before making a decision.

You can change the investment amount, number of coins, entry price, exit price, trade type, and fees to see how each assumption affects the result.

It can also help you understand how trading fees affect your final profit or loss.

Does the Calculator Execute a Trade?

No.

The CST Times Crypto Profit/Loss Calculator only performs a calculation using the information you enter.

It does not buy, sell, transfer, or trade cryptocurrency. It also does not connect to your exchange account.

The result is an estimate based on your selected prices, amount, and fees.

Important Note

Crypto markets can move quickly, and actual trading results may differ from calculator estimates.

Real exchanges may charge different fees, spreads, funding costs, taxes, or other charges that are not included in this calculation.
